THE WIT, WISDOM AND BEAUTY OF OSCAR WILDE AS HE JOURNEYS FROM TITE STREET IN LONDON TO PARIS SAINT GERMAIN INFORM ALEXANDER MCQUEEN’S MENSWEAR COLLECTION THIS SEASON.
I have always been a fan of #McQueen outrageous and dary look and the new F/W outfits are my favourites, NO DOUBTS!
The inspiration is just perfect and brings back the concept of Victorian quintessence beauty made famous by Oscar Wilde. A man dressed with a typical British gentleman style: tailored coats of Serge wool with velvet appliques and a 3-pieces flannel suits underneath are what we can admire from McQueen catwalk. The trausers have side stripes bringing up military influence.
The whole collection symbolize Wilde’s travel from London to France and through the journey his Dandy style becomes enriched by other inspirations. The look becomes more fanciful: jacquard overcoats which revoke antique rugs, all-over paisley print silk robe and gemstone rings to finish the look.
Another recursive and main pattern and motif we can appreciate in the collection are peacocks, aristrocratic and noble symbol, inspired by the room paintings where Wilde died.
The all new season gives us the tools to pay homage to an extraordinary writer and eternal dandy.
Have a look at the gallery and enjoy some of the best and suggestive outfits.
