Jan 13th: Menswear is on stage at Milan Fashion Week. Just after Pitti Uomo (10-13 Jan).
Man is Back! Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana released a Fashion Movie, starring models who woke up in a wood, ready for Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2017. A modern fairytale in a documentary-film style.
The first designer to open the glamourus event is Ermenegildo Zegna, but it’s Giorgio Armani appointed to masterfully switch off the lights of the catwalks on the 17th. Some of the designers are missing, such as Gucci, but some are back or totally new. Alessandro dell’Acqua is back with his N21 collection. Philipp Plein presents his new Sportswear. Three emerging designers are presented by the King Armani: Moto Guo from Malaysia, Consistence from Taiwan and the Japanese Yoshio Kubo.
Dolce&Gabbana chose #DGMillenials to walk at the show. They are the new generation of models: bloggers, influencers, youtubers and social webstars with millions of followers. Warm welcome to them to the #DGFamily. The collection is characterized with baroque and golden touches, which are D&G distinctive elements, but they also presented classy tone-on-tone looks. I love the military-style coats and the royal jackets that were shown.
But what’s really trendy for next F/W?
BAGS! Huge, small, backpacks, leather or plush.
Diesel prefers blag leather sacs, Zegna thought of elegant leather business bags and briefcases while Ports 1961 choose big backpacks with leather base and balck and blue tartan. Emporio Armani proposed an original fur front rucksack, but the most interesting garment comes again from Dolce&Gabbana: A big Lion muppet fur backpack.
Fashion Week is not yet over, but for sure even next winter we all have a wide choice to wear and pick our preferred style. Which one would you pick?
